Established in 1919, W H Shoebridge Ltd is a family-run engineering business built on experience, trust and looking after our customers when they need us most.
Today, the business is owned by Richard and Carl Boardley, who acquired Shoebridge in 2026, bringing the company into the Boardley Group. Their focus is simple: to build on Shoebridge’s long-standing reputation while continuing to invest in its people, facilities and specialist services.
With branches in Northampton, Peterborough and Wisbech, we support customers across the Midlands and East Anglia with electric motor sales and repairs, gearboxes, geared units, pumps, fans, blowers and associated equipment.

We know that when equipment fails, downtime can be costly. That's why our 24/7 emergency breakdown service is available to help customers get back up and running as quickly as possible — whether that means repair, replacement, hire or specialist engineering support.
We’re also proud to have recently opened our new Servo Motor Repair Centre at our Northampton facility, adding specialist repair and testing capabilities for AC and DC servo motors, as well as Fanuc and Siemens spindle motors. Our team can repair and test motors to manufacturers' specifications, including feedback alignment.
